The Dragonfly is the world抯 first fully-featured notebook-size projector, weighing just 2.18Kg (4.8 pounds), with overall dimensions of 222mm x 248mm x 64mm (8.75" x 9.75" x 2.5") - about the size of a dictionary. With a noise output of only 39dB, the Dragonfly is also one of the quietest projectors on the market. According to Dr. Catharina Biber, Senior Thermal Engineer at InFocus, "Thermal simulation was a crucial factor in the successful design of this projector. The major design constraint was size, right from the start, and we knew that the small size required could only be achieved if the thermal design, aesthetic design, and EMI design engineers worked closely together. Flotherm enabled us to predict air flow and heat transfer throughout the projector quickly and accurately, so that we were able to produce an optimized design without building many time-consuming experimental models. Flotherm was also essential in the strategic positioning and sizing of the various air vents. Based on our flow models, we were able to decide the optimum placements for the major components and the power supply".
